This song was one of the summer hit when I'd just moved to NY (2004), one of those song that marked time and place for me.
Still it's one my favorites.

I-Legal

One of the things I miss so much living in NY, it's the "freedom" that we have in Chile or in other "3rd world countries" to paint on the streets.
When you have almost everything to do a public piece (the supplies, the motivation and the time to go out) and you really want to do something positive for you or for your neighborhood, it is almost impossible to make it happen in NY without a permission letter from the owner of the wall. It seems it wouldn't be a problem to get it, but the reality have showed me the opposite and it has taught me that we don't really live in a tolerant society, where someone (like me) can find an abandoned place that is totally dirty and do a mural without getting arrested or having the chance to get in trouble with the law.
This makes a big difference between our styles and our ways to work in South America, and tells me that people in this city are scared for things they shouldn't.
Graffiti and Street art should not be criminalized as it is here right now, because there's other serious problems that really need to be fixed in this country.
Politics and People need to start to be open to new ideas and new ways of living and interact to each other...

Sao Paulo 2009

While I was in Chile, I visited Brazil for my second time in my life. I went with my friend "Grin" who invited me from Santiago to check out Sao Paulo city and our friends that we have in common there.
Here I'm posting some pictures from the trip.
I want to thank VLOK & ANX CREWs ( KINGS! ) for showed us how things work and how others don't in Sao Paulo. Vitche and Jana for their humbleness and talk, and the Pandolfo and Ferreira families for making us fell SP like home.

Chile Lindo 2009

Acabo de volver a Nueva York despues de un viaje de tres meses a mi pais, donde me fui a casar con mi mujer. Habian pasado tres anios de la ultima vez que yo habia estado alla, lo cual nuestras espesctativas eran demasiadas.
Haber podido ver a mi familia y a mis amigos fue algo muy especial, pero haber compartido momentos como nuestra boda con los mas queridos fue sin duda el momento mas importante de mi vida.
Lo que aprendi de este viaje fue que realmente necesito volver a vivir y trabajar alla. Hay tantas cosas para mi por hacer alla que se me hace cada vez mas dicifil tener que dejar otra vez mi ciudad.
Estos casi 5 anios viviendo en Nueva York han sido una experiencia demasiado buena, que me ha ayudado a a crecer como persona y artista (aunque algunos no piensen igual..) , pero estar en el lugar donde naci y me criaron es algo incomparable a cualquier otra cosa que siento viviendo aqui.
Yo he hecho Nueva York mi casa y mi base de trabajo, he conocido gente increible en esta ciudad que nunca podre olvidar, ya sea por sus lecciones de vida o por el carinio y ayuda que me han dado. Todavia me quedan muchos objetivos por hacer aqui y espero seguir trabajando duro para lograrlos. Por mientras yo seguire aniorando el dia en que vuelva a establecerme con mi esposa en mi ciudad natal y vivir, vivir y vivir..

I just came back from a three month trip in my country, where I went to get married with my lady. Three years had passed since the last time I was there, so the spectations in our minds and hearts were overloaded.
To have seen my family and friends in this travel was something so special, but having shared moments like our wedding ceremony and the party with almost all our love ones were the most important moment in my lifetime so far.
What I learned from this journey was that I really need to come back to live and work there. There some many things to do for me down there that it makes very difficult to leave my city once again.
These almost 5 years living in NYC have been a pretty good experience for me that it has helped me to grow as a person and of course as an artist (even if some people don't think the same...ha!), but to be in the place where you born and got raised it's for me incomparable to anything that I feel living here.
I have made New York my home and base, I have met incredible people in this city that I'll never forget for their lessons, love and aid that they have showed me.
I still have some things to accomplish here and I'll work hard to do it before to come back. Meanwhile I'm will still dreaming for that day to come, when I establish myself in my original city and just live, live and live...
